The course will prepare the direct care professional working with those with developmental disabilities in New York State to become certified in medication administration. The course will cover pharmacology with an emphasis on drug classifications, therapeutic action and side effects, and State and Federal Laws related to dispensing medications. The administration procedures and the documentation requirements will also be covered.
