This course provides students with a historical and sociological perspective of the law and our legal system. Areas of study include the structure of American government, sources of law, basic terminology and procedures, ethical standards of practice, and the structure of the federal and state court systems. An introduction to the major substantive areas of the law and to legal analysis provides the student with the foundation necessary for further paralegal study. Offered fall semesters only.
